In order to manually log steps, please select your platform and read the instructions:
Android
To log steps manually, please do the following:
- Open the BetterMe app and navigate to the Statistics tab to make sure you have allowed access to the Health Connect app. If you see a Set up Health Connect banner at the top of the statistics page, tap on Set Up Now and follow the instructions on the screen.
- Next, find the Walk tab: it’s either in the More tab or in the Plan tab from the bottom menu (depending on your app layout).
- Tap the “+” button in the upper right corner.
- Enter Step Details:
Date: Select the date for your entry.
Time: Choose the exact time.
Steps: Enter the number of steps (from 1 to 20,000). - Save your entry by tapping on the Add button at the bottom of the screen. The app will automatically update all dashboards that show your step data.
If you need to edit the steps, you can do it from the same tab:
- Swipe up to find Step Data.
- You’ll see a list of all step entries sorted by date and time. Tap an entry you created manually to open and update it. Please note that only manually added entries can be edited.
- After editing, tap Save to confirm your changes. The updated information will instantly refresh across all dashboards.
iOS
To log steps:
- Open the BetterMe app and select the Plan tab from the bottom menu. If you don't see it there, you have a different app layout; find Reach Step Goal under the More tab.
- Select Reach Step Goal.
- Make sure you have allowed access to the Health app (click Activate, if not). If you see the lock sign in the circle, scroll down and tap Connect Now > Activate.
- Tap the Add button in the upper-right corner.
- Enter steps.
- Press Add Steps.
